FUSUI HAKKEI
We selected eight new scenic spots in the HAKUBA VALLEY area modeled on the traditional Eight Views of Xiaoxiang theme in landscape paintings of Hunan Province in China. We named these views whose picturesqueness will take your breath away the FUSUI HAKKEI of HAKUBA VALLEY.

1Otari Village: Village with a View
This is a village with a panoramic view of the Northern Alps. It was reborn as a campsite in 2021. The sun sets over the mountains in the evening. It glows in the morning. If you are lucky, you may be able to see a sea of clouds. There are 150 cherry trees here. You can enjoy cherry blossoms in full bloom in the spring. Lake Kizaki allows you to savor beautiful nature you will never tire of 365 days a year. You can enjoy new green leaves in the spring, playing in the water in the summer, autumn leaves in the fall and the snowscape in the winter. Hakuba Mountain Harbor is a mountain resort which is attracting attention. You can enjoy spectacular views from the top of the mountain with a single gondola ride. In addition to offering seasonal views of new green leaves, autumn leaves and mountain snow, there are plenty of activities to try here including a scenic swing and mountain biking. WARABIDAIRA NO BOSETSU

Warabidaira offers a panoramic view with few obstructions to your field of vision. Please take in that view from a place where rice fields unfold out all around you. We also recommend you have fun rafting on Hime River in the summer. KARAMATSU NO SHUGETSU
5Hakuba Village: Karamatsudake (Kitaone Plateau)
Karamatsudake is the rare case in Japan of a mountain with a glacier. It is relatively easy to climb and many people coming here bring their children with them. If you use the lift, you can reach the summit from the foot of the mountain in approximately 4 and a half hours. The best time to visit is September to October. NAKATSUNA NO YAU

The deep pink color of the Sargent’s cherry trees is reflected on the surface of the lake here like a mirror. Hundreds of visitors arrive from early in the morning to take photos of that sight during the flowering season (late April to early May). The foggy view is also stylish. In addition to herabuna crucian carp, mabuna crucian carp and dace, ice fishing for pond smelt is also popular in the winter.#Omachi_NAKATSUNA NO YAU
REISHO NO BANSHO
7Omachi City: Reisho Temple
Reisho Temple was founded 600 years ago. It leaves everyone exclaiming, “What a splendid sight so deep in the mountains!” The two-story Sanmon Gate has been decorated with exquisite carvings by temple carpenters. It has been designated as a prefectural treasure. It is the oldest temple in the Soto school of Zen Buddhism in Nagano Prefecture. The Ohatsuki gingko trees with gingko nuts attached to the leaves are famous. The best time to see the autumn leaves is from late October to early November.#Omachi_REISHO NO BANSHO
AMAKAZARI NO YUSHO
8Otari Village: Mt. Amakazari
Mt. Amakazari is one of Japan’s top 100 mountains. The summit at an altitude of 1,963 m marks the prefectural border with Niigata Prefecture. You can see out all over the Sea of Japan, Sado Island and the Northern Alps from the summit of the mountain. Many mountain climbers visit in the autumn leaves season in October.
