How to redeem your Epic Pass benefits at Hakuba Valley

  1. Show your Epic Pass at the designated ticket window of any Hakuba Valley snow resort.
  2. You may be asked to present a photo ID (e.g. driver’s license or passport) to confirm your identity.
  3. Receive a complimentary 5-consecutive-day Hakuba Valley ticket for Epic Pass holders.

About the Hakuba Valley (HV) 5-Consecutive-Day Ticket

  1. This ticket is valid for 5 consecutive days from the first day of use.
  2. This ticket allows access to all resorts in Hakuba Valley. You can ski and ride at an unlimited number of resorts each day.
  3. No deposit is required.
  4. This ticket can only be used by the Epic Pass holder to whom it was issued. It cannot be shared among family, friends, or others.
  5. This ticket cannot be reissued, is not available for resale, and is non-transferable and non-refundable.
  6. This ticket is not valid for night skiing or riding.

How do I use my HV 5-consecutive-day ticket?

Your HV 5-consecutive-day ticket is a RFID lift card.
Using your ticket (card), you can directly access the lifts at Kashimayari, Goryu, Hakuba47, Happo-one, Iwatake, Tsugaike, Norikura, and Cortina.
At Jigatake, you will need to exchange your ticket for a local day pass.

Can I ride the Hakuba Valley Shuttle Bus with my HV 5-consecutive-day ticket?

Yes. You can ride the shuttle bus free of charge with a valid HV 5-consecutive-day ticket.
However, please note that your ticket will not be valid for night shuttle buses.
This season, the Hakuba Valley Shuttle Bus will be operating from December 25, 2021 to February 23, 2022.

Can I purchase discounted lift tickets after my complimentary 5 days at Hakuba Valley are up?

No. Hakuba Valley benefits only include the complimentary HV 5-consecutive-day lift ticket.

How to redeem your Hakuba Valley pass benefits at VR-owned and operated resorts.

Hakuba Valley Season Pass holders can receive a 50% discount on 1-day lift tickets at VR-owned and operated resorts! When visiting VR resorts, please bring the following to the ticket window to redeem your benefits.

1) Your eligible Hakuba Valley Season Pass
2) A valid photo ID (e.g. driver’s license, passport)

Once your status as an eligible Hakuba Valley Season Pass holder is confirmed, you can purchase your 1-day lift ticket for 50% off of the then-current lift ticket price.

Please note that this benefit does not apply to multiple-day tickets. If you plan to visit the same resort for 2 or more days, you may purchase a discounted 1-day lift ticket for every day you plan to ski or snowboard, so long as tickets are available.

When will benefits be available for Hakuba Valley Season Pass holders?

Once you have received your 2022-2023 Hakuba Valley Season Pass, you will be able to receive discount benefits during the 2022-2023 winter operating season for VR-owned and operated resorts in the U.S. and Canada, and the 2023 winter season in Australia, based on each resort’s respective opening and closing dates.

What does "then-current lift ticket price" at VR-owned and operated resorts mean?

VR-owned and operated resorts offer different prices for lift tickets at different mountains, and also based on the time of year.
“Then-current” means the price of a lift ticket for your age category on the day you intend to use your 50% off discount benefit.

Can benefits be shared among family, friends, and others?

No. Discount benefits are non-transferable and can only be used by the named Hakuba Valley Season Pass holder.
Benefits are limited to one lift ticket per day per season pass.

What age is a child in Hakuba Valley?

A child is anyone 6-12 years of age.
Ages 13+ are defined as adult.
Hakuba Valley offers free entry for those under the age of 6.

Can I get a free HV 5-consecutive-day ticket for my child under the age of 6?

No. There is no free HV ticket for children under 6. Please take your child to any Hakuba Valley resort ticket window to receive a free day pass for them.

The 2023 Epic Australia Pass is valid for the 2022-2023 winter season in Hakuba Valley.

If I purchase an Epic Australia Pass during the Southern Hemisphere spring, can I immediately redeem my benefits at Hakuba Valley?

No. Hakuba Valley benefits are valid during the Northern Hemisphere winter season that follows the Southern Hemisphere winter during which you used your Epic Australia Pass.

Where can I purchase an Epic Pass, Epic Local Pass, or Epic Australia Pass?

I purchased my Epic Pass or Epic Local Pass online but have not yet received the actual pass. Can I still access Hakuba Valley?

Yes. Please bring your Epic Pass confirmation and photo ID to a designated Hakuba Valley resort ticket window to redeem your complimentary 5-day ticket. Your photo must be uploaded and the release of liability must be completed for your Season Pass to be active.

I have not received my Epic Pass or Epic Local Pass yet. Can I get one printed in Hakuba Valley?

No. Epic Passes sold by Vail Resorts can only be issued at Vail Resorts-owned and operated resorts.

Will my experience at Hakuba Valley be included in my Epic Mix account?

No. Hakuba Valley is not included in Epic Mix.

Where is Hakuba Valley?

Hakuba Valley is located in the northern region of Nagano Prefecture, which is located in the middle of mainland Japan. Hakuba Valley is about 200 km (125 miles) northwest of Tokyo, at the base of the Northern Japan Alps.

How can I access Hakuba Valley?

A shinkansen bullet train and a connecting express bus will take you from Tokyo to Hakuba Valley in as little as 2 hours and 50 minutes. During the snow season, direct shuttle buses and shared taxis run between Hakuba Valley and the major international airports such as Haneda and Narita in Tokyo, and Chubu Centrair in Nagoya.

When is the Hakuba Valley skiing and snowboarding season?

Skiing and snowboarding season in Hakuba Valley typically begins around late November. Depending on snow conditions, the opening dates of our resorts may differ. The peak season is from mid-December to late March. Resorts are open daily. Goryu, Hakuba 47, Happo, and Tsugaike are open for spring skiing and snowboarding until the beginning of May.

What resorts are included in Hakuba Valley?

Hakuba Valley has 10 snow resorts: Jigatake Snow Resort, Kashimayari Snow Resort, Hakuba Sanosaka Snow Resort, ABLE Hakuba Goryu Snow Resort, Hakuba 47 Winter Sports Park, Hakuba Happo-one Snow Resort, Hakuba Iwatake Snow Field, Tsugaike Mountain Resort, Hakuba Norikura Onsen Snow Resort, and Hakuba Cortina Snow Resort.

Is shuttle bus service available in Hakuba Valley?

Yes. The Hakuba Valley Shuttle Bus service connects all resorts, and each resort also offers free shuttle buses to cover the entire area.
This winter season, the Hakuba Valley Shuttle Bus will be operating from December 25, 2021 to February 23, 2022.
